FIBRE
Increases Product Longevity
Goonvean’s polyester fibres come in a variety of cuts and sizes and are designed to increase longevity, so you can have peace of mind knowing that your products will stand the test of time. Polyester has countless benefits. It’s resistant to acids, stretching, and shrinking, making polyester ideal for industrial applications. It also has a high specific gravity, so it disperses well in water and has a high melting point.
Polyester is widely used to manufacture textiles, yarns and ropes, seatbelts, plastic reinforcements, insulation products, and as a finish for high-quality wood products, including musical instruments.
Quality matters, so at Goonvean Fibres, we’ve added further value to our polyester fibres, including zero fusion, unrivalled flow characteristics, shorter cut lengths, and lower customer overall production costs. Our polyester is also highly compatible with other ingredients.
Standard Fibre Details
Polyester is a synthetic fibre that derives from petroleum. It’s the most popular fibre in the world for producing clothing and textiles, used for thousands of consumer applications every day. It’s also used to enhance the strength and durability of products, even in industrial applications, and is highly compatible.
Technical Fibre Details
Polyester is also known as Polyethylene terephthalate (PET). It’s a polymer that comprises compounds from the ester functional group and comes from fossil fuels or organic sources. Its chemical structure is a long-chain synthetic polymer that’s composed of at least 85 per cent the weight of an ester of dihydric alcohol (HOROH) and terephthalic acid (p-HOOC-C6h4COOH).
