MODACRYLIC
FIBRE
A Synthetic Copolymer
We manufacture Precision-Cut Modacrylic fibres to maximise the benefits and quality and ensure you receive the ideal fibre for applications.
Modacrylic fibres are used to manufacture technically advanced fabrics and textiles, like protective clothing. Due to the low density, any textiles manufactured with these fibres are guaranteed to be light and comfortable, including furnishings and outdoor fabrics.
Despite their high resistance to chemicals and solvents, our modacrylic fibres are extremely soft, making them ideal for manufacturing faux fur, fleeces, and synthetic wigs. Our modacrylic fibres possess high environmental resistance and flame retardancy to ensure they are suitable for a variety of applications where dimensional stability, softness, strength, and resilience are required. Our modacrylic fibres also do not burn.
Quality matters, so at Goonvean Fibres, we’ve added further value to our modacrylic fibres, including zero fusion, unrivalled flow characteristics, shorter cut lengths, and lower customer overall production costs. We offer a variety of lengths to further maximise our high-quality standards.
Available in a range of sizes
Standard Fibre Details
Our modacrylic fibres are flame retardant, resistant against abrasion and combustion, durable, soft, highly resilient, wrinkle resistant, and have high dimensional stability and elastic recovery.
Technical Fibre Details
Modacrylic fibres are synthetic, modified acrylic fibres composed of less than 85 per cent the weight of acrylonitrile monomer. The fibres possess Dynel (acrylonitrile and polyvinyl chloride) and Verel (acrylonitrile and vinylidene chloride) which have similar performance and properties.
